West Coast Dental Supports Tweedy Mile Street Fair 2012

The 22nd Annual Tweedy Mile Street Fair, which lasted for three days, until June 03, 2012, was held between California and Alexander streets on Tweedy Boulevard. A mile-long street fair, the Tweedy Mile Street Fair featured all types of vendors, carnival rides, games and food. West Coast Dental Group of South Gate participated in the event for all the three days, providing dental health education and promotional freebies to the community. The 2012 Tweedy Fair attracted more than 150,000 visitors from the south east communities surrounding Los Angeles County. Peak attendance to the fair in the previous years had been around 250,000 visitors during the three-day event.

The Tweedy Mile Street Fair has a small town fair vibe offering families the opportunity to enjoy carnival rides, stage entertainment, international food, arts and crafts, and a petting zoo. The presence of West Coast Dental at the fair is particularly significant, as the group emphasized the importance of dental health and hygiene, among the not-so-healthy fair snacks. To promote the message effectively in this fun-filled environment, West Coast Dental distributed balloons and raffled an electric toothbrush and a free cleaning.

The West Coast Dental Group of South Gate Office Manager, Perla DeGonzalez, stated about the event: “We are happy to support the Tweedy Mile event and the people of South Gate. We have been their friendly neighborhood dentist for years and as a result have supported this event many times!” At the event, West Coast Dental also gave oral health education to its potential patients and answered many financial questions. The dental care provider distributed promotional cards for free whitenings and $200 off orthodontic treatment as well as toothbrushes, dental floss, and toys for children.
